About us

Tommasi & Tommasi is an engineering services company based in Udine, in north-eastern Italy. It was founded in 1992 as EHL Eng (Environment, Hydrology, Land Engineering) and is a family business. In its early years it worked mainly on water, land and infrastructure; today it works on environmental noise, geospatial data, energy and monitoring networks, for public bodies, infrastructure operators and European and international institutions.

The technical director

RafDouglas C. Tommasi, P.E., PhD, is TT's technical director and carries out every assignment in person. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering, with a specialisation in hydraulics, from the University of Udine, and a PhD in Geodesy and Geomatics from the Politecnico di Milano (2006), with a focus on advanced GIS, remote sensing and the management of large geographic databases. He is a registered engineer with the Ordine degli Ingegneri of the Province of Udine, no. 2396.

He has more than 30 years of professional experience. He has directed noise, Lidar, monitoring and energy projects in Italy and abroad, and has been team leader of international projects for the European Commission, the European Investment Bank, UNDP, and Horizon 2020 and Interreg programmes.

He writes code, has run Linux servers for more than 15 years, and designs sensors and firmware. He works in Italian and English and also speaks German.

The founder and principal

Raoul Tommasi, the founder and still the principal of TT, graduated in forest engineering from the University of Padua. After several years with Italconsult, Snia Viscosa and Eaton, he went into private practice and founded EHL Eng in 1992. He served as a national councillor of the Italian Order of Agronomists and Foresters and as the Italian delegate to CEDIA in Brussels. How we work

TT has one engineer, the technical director. Anyone who gives TT an assignment knows who will do the work. For projects that need more people or other skills, TT works with a network of associated professionals and firms, or joins joint ventures and consortia as the specialist partner.

We work in Italian and English and have worked in 11 countries: Italy, Albania, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, France, Ireland, Malta, the United Kingdom, Serbia and the United States.
