Expertise

Technical assistance to institutions

European and international institutions need technical experts who can work within their rules: service contracts, international teams, fixed deadlines, documented quality control. TT and its technical director work in this setting, both under TT's own contracts and as key experts in other contractors' teams.

What we do

We develop and verify common technical methods, such as the test cases for the European noise assessment method CNOSSOS-EU. We organise the collection and automated quality control of data that Member States report to the Commission. We support development banks in the environmental and technical monitoring of the projects they finance, with site visits and inspections. We help governments choose emission measurement and control methods and write them into their regulations.

Reference projects

CNOSSOS-EU (European Commission, DG Environment). Test cases for the common noise assessment methods. Case study.

Noise action plan data (European Commission, DG Environment). Collection of national noise action plans reported to the Commission, coordination of international experts, automated quality control of incoming data and internal checking software.

European Investment Bank. Team leader and environmental expert for the monitoring of a EUR 2.6 billion loan to the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research, with site visits and inspections. A second assignment for the EIB, as team leader and key expert, on the completion data review of a EUR 2 billion loan to the Italian Ministry of Education and Merit.

UNDP Bosnia and Herzegovina. A reference method for monitoring emissions from stationary sources, written into the federal rulebook, and methods based on hyperspectral imagery.

UNDP SDG GeoHub. Geospatial data architecture and cloud pipelines. Case study.

Other work: the strategic noise mapping of Niš, Serbia, in an EU-funded IPA project, as key expert for noise modelling.
